OBJECTIVES:
To present information and supporting evidence
To convey a clear and distinct perspective
To make strategic use of digital media
To demonstrate a command of extemporaneous speaking to address an audience

AGENDA:
In groups of 3, students will present songs
Each group’s song must pertain to their circle of hell
Each student must demonstrate, through song lyrics or melody, how the song fittingly portrays the circle of hell
Extra credit to any group who sings their song rather than just playing their song

HOMEWORK:

Circle of hell final essay due today, Monday the 21st.

BELLRINGER:
5 minute timed write:
In one paragraph, inform an audience of 8th graders why it’s important to plan ahead when preparing for high school classes.

AGENDA:
Students will take out their multiple-choice AP test and go through it, reading, discussing, and reflecting on the right answer.

In their Circle of Hell groups of 3, students will conduct peer editing.

HOMEWORK:

Oedipus Rex essays & notes and Response Journals due today.
Literary Devices quiz E-N on Thursday.

Students will begin brainstorming for essay on prompt.

To review plot outline and story sequence
To use discussion and graphic organizers to analyze character development
To use words and pictures to convey meaning

AGENDA:
Individually, students will complete the following assessment started Friday:
Describe each main event and outcome
Use pictures to complement descriptions
Each event/outcome must be in proper sequence
Discussion: Stand if you think Zaroff changed from the beginning to the end of the story?
Explain your opinion citing evidence from the story.
Did Rainsford change? Use evidence to establish opinion.
Take out your Venn diagrams. Add to each side. Divide in half to show how characters changed.

Discuss peer editing – will complete this in groups of 3.
Collaborative work in pods
In groups of 3, students will discuss a song that pertains to the theme or mood of their circle
Each will write an aspect of how the song is pertinent on their cards to present Tuesday
