To analyze text for what it states explicitly and implicitly
To understand how to approach an AP test
To use evidence to support ideas
To work with peers to promote discussion and decision making
To demonstrate knowledge of essay editing including organization, sentence fluency, and conventions

BELLRINGER:
5 minute timed write:
In one paragraph, explain a time you received a memorable gift, and what made it so special to you.

New independent reading assignment given.

AGENDA:
Students will take out their multiple-choice AP test and go through it, reading, discussing, and reflecting on the right answer.

HOMEWORK:

Come to class Monday with your indpendent reading novel.

To present information and supporting evidence
To convey a clear and distinct perspective
To make strategic use of digital media
To demonstrate a command of extemporaneous speaking to address an audience

AGENDA:
In groups of 3, students will present songs
Each group’s song must pertain to their circle of hell
Each student must demonstrate, through song lyrics or melody, how the song fittingly portrays the circle of hell
Extra credit to any group who sings their song rather than just playing their song

HOMEWORK:

Circle of hell final essay due today, Monday the 21st.

AGENDA:
Students will take out their multiple-choice AP test and go through it, reading, discussing, and reflecting on the right answer.

In their Circle of Hell groups of 3, students will conduct peer editing.

HOMEWORK:

Oedipus Rex essays & notes and Response Journals due today.
Literary Devices quiz E-N on Thursday.
