OBJECTIVES:
To complete Venn diagram
To use guided inquiry and discussion to review thesis statements and hooks
To brainstorm for written assessment on prompt

AGENDA:
Students will complete Venn diagrams of analyzing Rainsford and Zaroff’s characters.
Prompt sheets will be handed out.
Discussion concerning thesis statements and hooks
Students will begin brainstorming for essay on prompt.

HOMEWORK:

Continue to read 10-15 minutes every night!

To review plot outline and story sequence
To use discussion and graphic organizers to analyze character development
To use words and pictures to convey meaning

AGENDA:
Individually, students will complete the following assessment started Friday:
Describe each main event and outcome
Use pictures to complement descriptions
Each event/outcome must be in proper sequence
Discussion: Stand if you think Zaroff changed from the beginning to the end of the story?
Explain your opinion citing evidence from the story.
Did Rainsford change? Use evidence to establish opinion.
Take out your Venn diagrams. Add to each side. Divide in half to show how characters changed.

BELLRINGER:
In one paragraph, play the role of Dante. Explain what punishment would be fitting something you deem a “crime”.

AGENDA:
Discuss peer editing – will complete this in groups of 3.
Collaborative work in pods
In groups of 3, students will discuss a song that pertains to the theme or mood of their circle
Each will write an aspect of how the song is pertinent on their cards to present Tuesday

HOMEWORK:

Wednesday the 16th: Dante’s Circle of Hell rough draft due for peer review,
Oedipus Rex essay and notes due, and Journal responses due
Thursday the 17th: Literary Devices quiz on E-N
