OBJECTIVES:
To practice oral reading skills
To read, analyze, and comprehend a narrative
To use text strategies effectively to analyze how plot and characters inform theme

BELLRINGER:
Students go to right side of room if they believe animals feel pain
Students go to left side of room if they have ever hunted or fished
Students go to right side of room if they never personally got an animal or caught a fish
Discuss: If animals feel pain, why is it ok to hunt or fish?
(Lead-in to story)

AGENDA:
Read “The Most Dangerous Game”
Discuss vocabulary, characters, and events

HOMEWORK:

Remember: 5 different types of reflections for each of your 15 journal entries.
Be sure to include vocabulary, literary devices, essay questions, and any of the other items under “Identify.” Due October 16 at the start of class. No exceptions! 125 points

LA 12 HOMEWORK:

Cell Messages (book report project) due at the BEGINNING of class 10/8/13 (30 pts)
NO EXCEPTIONS!
