In pods, students practice writing sentences utilizing all the different sentence openers
Class discussion and presentation of pod work
Students hand in their Response Journals (30 points)

To practice identifying different text structures

Use PowerPoint to present different text structures
Class discussions on each structure
Work through examples together
In pods, students will read paragraphs of different structures, identifying the structures based on key words/phrases and through using graphic organizers
